Have you ever come across with someone who simply radiates a genuine, kind, and positive energy? The type of person who embraces the world? One with whom, you immediately feel comfortable with? Chances are you have met someone whose second chakra is well balanced.
People with a balanced Sacral chakra or Second chakra, are open to the world around them.
They are energetic, emotionally stable, compassionate and experience a true love for life. Chakras are described as meeting points of energy. Therefore, resembling channels through which energy flows. Healing is needed when the chakra is either too open or alternatively, blocked.

If you can’t recall, or it has been that long — it could mean your Sacral chakra is out of balance. Passion and love are very hard to come by and can be impossible to nourish. Specifically with the second chakra people will experience the following;
- Acceptance of false reality
… these are are all serious problems when the sacral chakra is not at its best.
These areas can affect every other chakra in your body. In addition, affect your entire being when your second chakra is not balanced. This is why maintaining the positive health of this particular chakra is so important.
Signs of the Second Chakra Balance
When we understand more about the chakras, it is important to learn how to recognize when things are right, and when something is not right.
The following are signs (characteristics, emotions, feelings, etc.) that your Second Chakra is in balance (or open).
- present in their body
- emotional stability
The following are signs (characteristics, emotions, feelings, etc.) that your Second Chakra is out of balance (or closed).
- find it hard to be around and social with other people
- emotions are not in balance
- lack self-confidence
- unavailable emotionally
There are other signs that can be displayed physically when your second chakra is out of balance as well which can often parallel when cortisol levels are high — attributed to that of stress.
The good news is, you don’t need to stay in this place of imbalance.
Ways to Balance the Second Chakra
A blockage in energy found in the sacral chakra can be healed with regular practice designed to stimulate the chakra. This, allows energy to flow into it and excess energy to dissipate. Chakra balancing can be helped along by a healer. Alternatively, there are many things you can do on your own as well.
Meditation is very useful for chakra cleansing and balancing. When meditating, try to visualize the colour orange. This colour is the sacral chakra’s colour and most importantly that vision of letting go. Learning to let go of unhealthy emotions, people and memories is imperative as you are letting go. Therefore, it demonstrates the ability to let go of your negative and/or emotional baggage and make space and energy.
Healing Foods for the Sacral Chakra
Dietary changes (or additions) can also help cleanse your second chakra. Foods like;
… and other sweet fruits are good sacral chakra healing food. The cinnamon spice is also useful, along with drinking plenty of water.
Essential oils like; Sandalwood, patchouli, orange, rose and ylang-ylang can be used as aromatherapy for second chakra healing. These can be used alone, in meditation, and together with chakra crystals.
Lastly, my own journey of letting go and healing the second chakra is belly dancing. In the video below, I do share a personal story of one of my students when I taught this art form. As women, moving our bodies through movement, in my case belly dancing, is incredibly powerful.
You see, the history of belly dancing never originated from women showing their bodies to audience from stage — it was the dance of women — for women.
