You might agree that we often forget the simple fact that learning is a lifelong process. As soon as we open our eyes to this world, we start to learn how to have our basic needs fulfilled. And then, as we age we make attachments and learn how to associate feelings with people. Time, or our timing dictates the outcome.
One vital part of our human learning process is making mistakes.
It is only after falling down or failing that we realize how to pick up the pieces. And, how to put them back together. However, when we run into trouble or challenging decisions, we lose our optimism and/or faith before ultimately giving in to circumstance.
Simply submitting to these situations is not the solution.
Instead, we should choose to grow, learning what went wrong and becoming wiser moving forward. If you give into unwanted situations and don’t look for the lesson it is trying to teach you, you will see this lesson again. And now, in our own lives this is not always easy to see either.
This is especially true when it comes to battles with addiction or toxic relationships.
We could spend a great deal of time on how these cycles especially those of trauma can repeat themselves without making the connection, we will save that for another time. Today, I really want to be transparent with you about the rabbit hole I have been finding myself in.
Cycles of Time will keep Repeating until we have Learned the Lesson
Take a moment to read, and process this next statement.
The polar opposite of love, is not hate. in fact when you love you do it with passion, emotion and conviction. And, when you hate the responses are virtually the same – with a different focus.
Whereas, I believe that the opposite of love is in fact apathy.
(noun) Lack of interest, enthusiasm or concern
When we look at past social movements, many if not all stem from passionate progression. And yet, for years now so many people continue to live in this ostrich perspective. In other words, heads in the sand. We see this a lot in the world of those who are spiritually focused, mystics or otherwise. They choose not to watch the news or tap into most media.
With honesty, I was there too once.
However, simply pretending or ignoring that these events, and often horrific ones are happening is not progression. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Although I can respect or acknowledge those is the spiritual word who practice this now, is the time to wake up.
This is not the time to be apathetic. These ‘lessons’ we are seeing in the political space right now (June 2018) are terrifying. And sure, the media is inundating us with images and dialogue that of course suits their narrative however, we can’t ignore this lesson screaming at us.
I would encourage you to watch this video below, and even more so, think of one singular thing you can do to move things forward. Where is it in your life that you are being apathetic and you can tweak that into change. Shift that apathy into progression for the greater good.
Every one of us creates our own set of moral values and principles.
It is here, that they become our ethics and code of conduct we follow throughout life. While we are born with some values, others are pushed in by our parents and society. These values determine our thought process, perception and attitude towards everything we come across.
But it’s essential to keep an open mind. New experiences can lead to new skills, perspectives and proficiencies.
