It is possible that you are already familiar with the theories surrounding the 6 depress of separation. And, what I want to propose to you today are two things; that this theory is perhaps outdated, and my propose to you my belief in the soul degrees of separation. First, lets cover what this is for those who may not be familiar with the 6 degrees concept. It is believed that you are connected to everyone on earth by only 5 people. Meaning, there are only 5 people who separate you from knowing each other. Now, this can be incredibly powerful to say the least, right? However, I want to suggest that this separation is much less in today’s day.
Are the Six Degrees of Separation Outdated?
So through just five other people, you are effectively connected to the Queen of England, Tom Hanks, or even a sheep sheerer in New Zealand. Sounds almost crazy but if you support the theories attached — it is true. But, do you agree that the internet or even social media challenge this?
Would you consider that those of us deeply connected on a spiritual level are far less distanced?
This, is where my theory of the soul degrees of separation was born.
About 7 years ago, I was beginning my journey through the alchemy of peace. And, like many others who are online based in some areas of their life I was on the search for a perfect domain name to match my course. I found one! However, it was taken. I spent some time looking into the company behind the domain name I desperately wanted and instead of being upset, I was inspired. My intentions were to reach out and hope to claim the name however, my soul took me elsewhere.
Instead, I reached out to let the person know I was moved by their work.
To my surprise, I received a response.
Welcome to my Soul Degrees of Separation
Beautiful soul, do you share with others who inspire you how they’ve touched you? Do you reach out or extend your glow with them?
I am so glad I did. Especially, in this case.
My email response came from a beautiful soul with whom I began to converse with more regularly. Because our missions and purpose were in such alignment we became great friends. I learned more about her and at the time, never imagined a kindred soul in Iceland would play such a role in my life. We later became Facebook friends (have to love social media!), and to say the least we took listen, challenge and support one another. I am not convinced that it would have taken 6 degrees for us to meet. In fact, we (or I) was driven by so much more than that.
I was drawn through what I am presenting to you as the soul degrees of separation.
We do not meet people in error or coincidence, do we? Or, are we pulled in by something greater than us? In this video, I share with you more about this experience and I would love your thoughts on this. Whether you agree or not this theory has intrigued me and was solidified more recently (you will hear why) …
Incredible, isn’t it?
The creation and expansion of the World Wide Web has allowed people from all over the world to connect at a much faster pace. Updated web tools and technologies have allowed us to send pictures, videos and even audios to more people in less time. This includes both Live videos and pre-recorded ones. Some people refer to this as the ‘shrinking world’ aspect of the six degrees of separation theory because the more people you know, the smaller the world seems.
But, is this a good or bad thing?
